The tradition of encaustic cement tile, also known as concrete or patterned tile, is to create interlocking designs by making a group of 4 tiles by rotating every tile by 90 degrees in each quadrant to form one design unit. When laid side by side, these 4 tile squares also form an interlocking pattern. Patterns often have a main field tile and optional matching borders. These borders can be used to frame a floor tile "rug" or to assist in incorporating your own unique design. Add solid colored field tiles to complete your floor.
Custom colors, sizes and unpolished finish are available along with matching stair treads and bullnose. Custom order prices vary and shipping is usually 8-10 weeks. Color chips (1" x 1" squares of cement tiles) of the available color palette can be ordered to help you envision your design. Contact us to get started.
Slight variations such as size, shade, slight imperfections, irregular edges and the appearance of fine cracks are inherent to this product. This adds to the natural appeal and does not compromise the performance. Because each cement tile is handmade and comes with its own unique characteristics, we recommend ordering color chips first.
